Tip Tuesday: Spring Break Tip #1

Spring Break is coming, right?  For my area, it’s later this month, but it is coming.  So how can we use our oils for spring break?  I’m going to do a few posts on this because I love using my oils when I travel!

First tip: Staying well!

Who wants to spend their vacation sick??  Not fun, AT ALL.

So here are a couple of things I make to stay well while on vacation.

First, hand cleanser.  This recipe is SUPER easy, and probably shouldn’t even be called a recipe.  But, it’s super effective and I usually have either this cleanser or my Germ Destroyer roller bottle in my purse.  Hand cleanser is super important while traveling because, well, germs.  And you don’t even want to know how gross the soap is in those soap dispensers in the bathrooms.  Wash your hands, please, but then put on a little of this for extra measure!  Dries quickly and adds a little moisture to your skin for a little bonus.

Germ Destroyer Hand Cleanser
**Safe for kids!**

1 oz Aloe Vera Jelly (NOT gel)
1 oz Jojoba oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil
10-15 drops of Germ Destroyer Synergy Blend

Put Jojoba or FCO in a 2 oz glass spritzer bottle.  Add Germ Destroyer Synergy.  Let sit for an hour and then add Aloe Vera Jelly.  Shake well before use.

Why Germ Destroyer and not the more popular germ-fighting blends?  Well, those blends are not safe for children.  Those blends usually contain Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary, which are all considered unsafe for children under 10, even diluted!  Germ Destroyer is an effective blend without these spicy oils and I love it.  There are plenty of effective, gentler oils, so no need to expose kiddos to something that could hurt them.  If you are not using on or around children under 10, feel free to use one of these other blends.  I like this one.

Another thing I take with me while on vacation is surface wipes.  These are also super easy to make and really handy.  I wipe down airplane trays, arm rests, and basically the entire hotel room with these to keep germs at bay.

Germ Destroyer Surface Wipes
**safe for kids!**

1-2 oz rubbing alcohol (depends on the number of wipes you are making)
5-10 drops Germ Destroyer (or other germ fighting blend if you are not using on or around children under 10)

Blend the alcohol and oil synergy in a glass container and then dip paper towels into the alcohol blend and ring out until damp.  Fold and store in plastic bag until needed.

Two super easy recipes to keep you healthy on vacation!  Watch next week for more Spring Break tips!

Happy Traveling!
