Sunday Spotlight: March Oil of the Month!

March’s Oil of the Month is………………..

<drumroll please>

It is super fun to say AND it smells Ah-mazing!  It smells like orange and lemon had a baby.  Very orange-y, but a little brighter.  It is a great alternative for orange in a blend you want to be more energizing, as kumquat has that effect, while orange is more calming.

Here’s the info sheet that comes with the oil:

So what is it good for?

Energy, lifting a mood, boosting the immune system, basically everything you need right now as we drudge through the end of winter/flu season.

Every Sunday, I’ll do a special recipe to highlight the Oil of the Month so you can see all the ways you can use it!

Citrus Energy
Diffuser Blend
**Safe for kids!**

2 drops Kumquat (Fortunella japonica)
1 drop Lime (Citrus x aurantifolia)
1 drop Grapefruit (Citrus x paradisi)
1 drop Hemlock Spruce (Tsuga canadensis)

Blend together and diffuse.  This blend would also make a fantastic personal inhaler for energy and mood.  Triple the recipe on a glass or porcelain dish and use inhaler wick to soak it up and reassemble inhaler.

For the citruses (Kumquat, Lime, and Grapefruit), you can substitute Lemon.  If you are blending for mood and not energy, you can also substitute Orange, Bergamot, or Yuzu, but those oils are calming, so not the best for energy.

You can substitute any Fir or Pine for the Hemlock Spruce.  My second choice would be last month’s OOTM – Douglas or Silver Fir.

Happy Blending!

PS – Wondering what the Oil of the Month is?  Plant Therapy introduces a brand new oil each month to subscribers.  You can buy it one time for $20, or subscribe monthly for $15.  The oil value will be at or more than $15.  It’s a fun surprise and the oils are always fun and interesting and give me a little challenge to blend with what I have.  They send those great info sheets along with it, so you are not left to blend alone.  Plenty of info on what it’s good for and what it blends well with.  Try it!  No obligation.  You can even skip months if you don’t want that month’s oil.  Super easy!
