Sickies Bath Blend

Well, it has started.

We went to a Fall Festival Sunday evening with my SIL and her family.  My niece was a little sedate and quiet in the midst of all the candy and games, but started running a fever when they got home.  Of course, I needed some snuggles with her sweetness, so I was up close and personal.

And today, I can feel it coming.

In that light, this post is going to be super short so I can go soak in this fabulous recipe.

This is what I call a Master Blend.  I make up a bunch in an empty bottle and just use a couple of drops when I need it.  Only use a couple of drops for a bath, as heat can make the Ginger a little irritating.  I’m doing the basic ratio, make as much ahead of time as you want.  Safe for kids (over 2) who may be feeling puny, but only use 1 drop per bath, and maybe another drop of Lavender, Ho Wood, or Cedarwood virginiana, and increase the carrier to 2 teaspoons.

Stop the Sickies Bath Salts (Great immune support as well!)
1 drop Ginger (Zingiber officinale)
2 drops Steam-Distilled Lime (Citrus x aurantifolia)
3 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)

Add 2 drops to a teaspoon of carrier oil and 1 oz of bath salts (Himalayan pink or Epsom salts work well!).

If you are going to make this blend for topical use (would be excellent for massaging on the belly), you could add a drop of Peppermint and 2 drops of Cedarwood virginiana.  Peppermint is a little too irritating for use in the bath and NOT safe for kids.  So leave it out if you are using on kids under the age of 10.

I hope you do not need this blend this season, but if you need something quick, this is a good one!

Happy Blending!
