Have Yourself a Sickly Little Christmas…

Well, it’s been a few years, but yesterday the husband work up with a nasty sinus infection.  As the day progressed and he was feeling better with meds and other therapies, he started getting serious pain in his joints and back, fever, and headaches.  Although he isn’t officially diagnosed, we are going with the flu.  Poor guy is miserable!

His main complaint was his joints.  So I’m going to share a flu blend with you, specifically designed to help with the painful joints and help your body kick that virus.  This blend uses some pretty spicy, skin-irritating oils.  Please use at this dilution or add more carrier to make it more diluted.  Do not leave out the marjoram, lavender, and frankincense as these are skin-protectant oils to help counter some of the irritating effects.  The spicy oils create the heat that is so soothing to sore joints and achy muscles.

This is made in a 4oz spritzer bottle and blended in half fractionated coconut oil and half jojoba wax (oil) to keep it thin enough to be sprayed easily and rubbed in quickly.

Adult blend (do not use on children or around children.  Husband is spraying this away from the kids and then covering up with clothes and blankets and washing his hands so it doesn’t touch the kids)

3% dilution in 4 oz of carrier

10 drops Clove bud (Syzygium aromaticum)
5 drops Thyme thymol (Thymus vulgaris ct. thymol)
5 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
10 drops Marjoram (Origanum majorana)
5 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
13 drops Frankincense (Boswelia certeri)
2 drops Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum verum) (optional)

Mix well in a spritzer bottle and use 3-5 times a day on achy joints or muscles.

Child Safe Blend (safe for ages 2-10)

3% dilution in 4 oz of carrier

10 drops of Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
20 drops Marjoram (Origanum majorana)
5 drops Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
20 drops Frankincense (Boswelia certeri)
10 drops Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)

Mix well in a spritzer bottle and use 3-5 times a day on achy joints or muscles.

I hope you don’t need it, but if you do, I think it will give you some good relief!
